Chess Openings Trainer helps you learn and practice chess openings using spaced-repetition training. You can use the core features without an account; an optional free account adds sync across devices.
Without an account: your repertoires, training lines, and review history are stored only on your device (local database). We do not receive them.
With an account (optional):
With a subscription (when available): purchases are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play; we never see your payment details. Our subscription processor (RevenueCat) and our database receive your subscription status (active/expired, product, expiry date) tied to your account id so the app can unlock premium features.
We do not collect: location, contacts, photos, advertising identifiers, or analytics beyond the training data described above. The app contains no ads and no third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties except the service providers above (Supabase for data hosting and authentication, RevenueCat and the app stores for subscriptions), each acting on our behalf.
Your synced data is retained while your account exists. To delete your account and all associated data, contact connor.cunningham7237@outlook.com from the account’s email address. We aim to complete deletion requests within 30 days.
Local-only (signed-out) data is removed when you uninstall the app.
Data in transit is encrypted (HTTPS). Database access is restricted per-user (row-level security): your data is readable and writable only by your authenticated account.
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
We will post any changes to this policy at this URL and update the effective date. Material changes will be noted in the app’s release notes.
