On iOS, these terms supplement Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which applies where these terms are silent.
Chess Openings Trainer is a chess-openings learning and training app. By creating an account or using the app you agree to these terms.
You may use core features without an account. If you create one, keep your credentials secure; you are responsible for activity under your account. You must provide a valid email address.
Repertoires, lines, and notes you create remain yours. You grant us the license needed to store and sync them solely to operate the service. Don’t upload content that is unlawful or that you lack rights to.
Don’t abuse the service: no attempts to breach security or rate limits, no reverse engineering except where law permits, no automated scraping of the service, no use that interferes with other users.
The app, its content (including curated lesson lines and teaching text), and branding are owned by us or our licensors. Opening names and chess data derived from the lichess chess-openings dataset are used under CC0.
The service is provided “as is” without warranties. Chess advice is educational; we don’t guarantee rating improvement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages; our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
You may stop using the service or request account deletion at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
We may update these terms; material changes will be posted at this URL with an updated effective date. Continued use after changes means acceptance.
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer resides, excluding its conflict-of-law rules, except where the law of your place of residence applies mandatorily.
